About

Alexander Deschamps is a visual artist who works in painting, drawing and print media. He has an active studio practice based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. He jumbles cartoons, signage, graphics, textures, and patterns together to form his unique visual language. Often rendering dark and serious themes with a colorful and playful palette, his work incorporates elements of comedy, tragedy, pop and politics.

Deschamps graduated from NYU in 2009 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts. In 2012 he founded Vandeavors Fine Art Services. He has worked with countless artists, galleries, museums, collectors, and consultants in the New York City area.

In 2023, Deschamps founded Neighbors, a gallery shared with his partner and his upstairs neighbors. In 2024 Neighbors became a roving pop-up gallery, and Deschamps is continuing its mission of showing noncommercial, underrepresented and outsider art work by friends and neighbors.
